The 18 Inch Journey is a 60-day school of fast-paced, intentional living. This requires a lot of energy and a willingness to live and thrive in community life.

Why the 18 Inch Journey

We believe that creativity is an essential pillar of wholehearted living.  We are looking for students with a willingness to take creative risks in stretching their creativity.  In this section, we'd like to hear about your relationship with creativity.

Spiritual Life & Character

We are looking for students with a vision for their wholeness and who are ready to work hard on their lives.  Our desire is to empower students with tools for cultivating a lifestyle of wholeness and daily transformation through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Leadership & Authority

We are looking for students with humility and a constant willingness to learn.  The 18 Inch Journey requires vulnerability and practicing trust with leadership.  Also, it takes a willingness to be confronted by leadership and receive feedback for growth.  Below, we'd like to hear about your relationship with authority.

Please answer the following in your video:

  1. Introduce yourself!  Tell us your name, age, where you're from, and a fun fact about you.
  2. What are you hoping to receive at the 18 Inch Journey?
  3. What are some areas in your life that need to change?
  4. What do you expect to receive from our leadership?
Keep the length between 2-3 minute.  Videos longer than 3 minutes will not be reviewed.

Record your video on a computer or iPhone and save the file to your computer.  We ask that you upload your video to Vimeo and save it as "private with password".  Then enter the link and password below.

Personal History

The following questions are very personal and transparent.  We want to be very clear about our expectation and standards for the culture that exists in the 18 Inch Journey.  First and foremost, we believe “There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)  We believe in the full power and redemption of the blood of Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.

We are all in various states in our walk with the Lord.  As a discipleship school, it is important for us to understand where you are in your journey with wholeness, so that we can best steward and lead you in the season ahead. It’s crucial that you desire your own wholeness more than we want it!  Therefore, it is essential that students of the 18 Inch Journey are walking in a growing level of freedom, vulnerability, and self-control before attending our schools.

We do not allow smoking or drinking alcohol during the 18 Inch Journey in order to create a safe atmosphere for the heart process.  The legal age for drinking in the state of North Carolina is 21. Since we accept students below this age, we want to create an uncompromising culture for all students.  Also, we want to minimize any space for distraction for students while taking the heart journey.

Please answer the following questions as honestly as possible.  Answering "yes" to any of the following questions will NOT automatically exclude you from acceptance to Phase I.  We thank you for your trust and vulnerability.
